Every tawse we make starts with heavy, raw vegetable-tanned leather from Hermann-Oak. Made using a natural tea of vegetable tannins, this is one of the oldest and most environmentally friendly types of leather. The resulting hide is heavy, dense, and perfect for our purposes.
Each hide is processed into 1.5” wide blanks which are then graded and sorted by weight and quality. The shape and embellishments are cut then the handle is skived down, glued around a leather bolster, and hand-stitched in place.
Sharp and bright sting that can range from light to severe depending on the strength of the strike. Hit your target with the tips on skin side (Black) for best effect. Try hitting with both the skin and flesh side for different sensations.
We hold ourselves to high standards and aim to be as transparent about our materials and processes. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
