Custom Orders
Create something authentically you
The process for requesting a custom piece occurs in three stages: CONSULTATION, BUILD, and DELIVERY. We only accept serious requests for custom pieces. All fees and deposits are non-refundable.
CONSULTATION:
All requests will be responded to in the order that they were received. All pieces are made to order and require tedious detail, sourcing and communication. In order to accommodate your request, a CONSULT FEE is required. Consult fees are non-refundable, but are included in the total cost of your custom order if you do decide to proceed with your request.
During your consult, our head craftsman will work with you to bring your vision to life. From material/hardware options to the overall design, their goal is to help you design a bespoke piece that is unique to you.
When materials and the design have been agreed upon, and the estimate has been approved, an additional deposit will be required to start the BUILD.
BUILD:
During this stage, our shop will order/create the necessarily materials and hardware for your design. Once all of the materials have been received, they will start the process of assembling your custom piece.
DELIVERY:
After your custom piece has been finalized, our shop will contact you to approve it. Once approved, a final payment is required before the piece is available for pickup or delivery.
Any custom pieces that are abandoned or not paid in full will be added to our shop and available to the public.
- WHAT’S YOUR WARRANTY?
- Paraphilia Toys guarantees a LIFETIME WARRANTY on every leather product we create. Every piece is individually inspected to ensure its longevity; making any product you own, one that can live in your bag forever. Unapologetically, we claim to be the best handcrafted leather gear available on the market. We do not claim this for fame, but because we aim to ensure that you are getting the best quality product available.
- ABOUT OUR LEATHER
-
For our restraints, tawses, paddles and straps we primarily use hides from heritage brands like Horween and Hermann Oak. These family companies produce leather of exceptional quality using old methods deemed too laborious for many modern tanneries. These methods create hides with superior working properties, longevity, and beauty.
The leather utilized for our floggers comes from several different sources. All hides are chosen for their quality and only from companies who put their animals, employees, and the environment first.
Due to the organic nature of dying and our choice of leather, colors may differ.
- ABOUT OUR HARDWARE
-
The vast majority of our hardware is either solid brass or stainless steel without any plating. Solid metal components are more durable than plated versions and maintain their appearance for longer. Because all plating eventually wears off to reveal the base metal underneath, it does not pass our level of quality and we do not integrate any plated hardware into our pieces. We strive for longevity with by maintaining the highest quality standards.
- ABOUT OUR WOOD
-
PROCESS
All of our handles are hand carved and go through a rigorous quality inspection. We strive to avoid inferior products, meaning that flaws don’t make the cut. Any handles that don’t pass our inspection will be revived as a unique piece at some point in the future.
To support longevity, each handle is burnished to bring out its true color and to help facilitate hand movement.
TYPECOCOBOLO: A Central American hardwood known for its spectacular and striking appearance. Colors can range from bright orange and fire red to purple and black all swirled together in complex grain patterns. No two pieces are exactly alike and some are more complex than others so it's always exciting to see what the end result will be. Cocobolo ages beautifully. Unlike many woods that fade and become dull with exposure to air and UV light, cocobolo oxidizes in a very odd way. The colors become deeper and darker with more rich and robust red tones presenting themselves over time.
GRANADILLO: A subtle and somewhat understated wood of medium brown color with amazing chatoyance. This is a property most often used in reference to gemstones. When carefully polished granadillo shimmers in the light and needs to be seen in person to be fully appreciated.
BOCOTE:Honey gold and pitch black are the two colors present in this wood. The balance is most often tilted toward honey with sharp and bold streaks of black. Rare and highly coveted pieces flip this balance appearing closer to ebony with streaks of gold.
Due to the organic nature wood grain, colors and patterns may differ. - IS YOUR LEATHER ETHICALLY SOURCED?
-
Yes. All hides are chosen for their quality and only from companies who put their animals, employees, and the environment first.
- WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY SUSTAINABLE AND ECO-FRIENDLY?
-
Every piece of material and hardware that enters our shop that doesn’t fit our quality standards, or is left over after a project, is repurposed or recycled. Knowing the sources of our materials, we prioritize using every piece of scrap to create accessories that accent every piece we offer. Our LOOPS and KEYCHAINS are great examples of this. All other unused materials are passed onto friends and shops that can repurpose them.
When it comes to our packaging, we aim for recyclable, reusable and eco-conscious materials. Instead of heavy printed, processed cardboard, our packaging is minimal to help produce the least amount of recyclable waste as possible.
- WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY ALL NATURAL?
-
When we say “All Natural”, we mean it. We seek out the best quality oils and waxes to produce our conditioners. Absolutely no petroleum products (vaseline, paraffin, mineral oil, etc.) fillers, dyes, silicone or softeners touch our products. A majority of the leathers we use are vegetable dyed, meaning no harsh chemicals. All of the materials and products we use are carefully chosen with the health of body in mind.
- WILL YOU MAIL MY PURCHASE INCONSPICUOUSLY?
-
All packages that leave our shop are sent out with anonymity in mind. No major branding or product descriptions will appear on the packaging we deliver to you.
- CAN I REFUND MY ORDER?
-
As with most kink products, all of pieces are non-refundable. Because each piece is meant for personal use, we cannot accept any refunds once it has left the shop.
Our pieces are only released once they’ve met our high quality standards and complete our rigorous testing. A defunct product is rare. Because of this, it is rare that we accept that as reasoning for a refund.
