Every piece is individually inspected to ensure its longevity; making any product you own, one that can live in your bag forever. Unapologetically, we claim to be the best handcrafted leather gear available on the market. We do not claim this for fame, but because we aim to ensure that you are getting the best quality product available.
- HOW DO I CARE FOR MY PADDLES, STRAPS, AND TAWSES?
To care for your leather, we suggest purchasing our HOUSE LEATHER CONDITIONER. Apply conditioner once a month, unless the item has seen extreme conditions or required cleaning.
Use a clean, soft cloth or your hands to apply a coating of our conditioner to the toy. Allow this to absorb into the hide for 12 to 24 hours and then buff the piece with a new, dry cloth. For very thick items, like our JUDICIAL STRAPS, we suggest a second application.
Immediately after applying conditioner, the leather will darken considerably, but will even out as the oils work their way deeper into the toy and distribute themselves throughout the fibers. Over time this buffing action will also further burnish the surface and produce a natural shine.
On some toys, like tawses, the flesh side will be visible. Only apply the conditioner to the skin side of the leather. It will not harm the function of the toy but the wax used in most conditioners can cause an unsightly matting of the suede.GENERAL CLEANING
With a horse hair brush, go over the entire surface to remove any dry dirt. Follow this with a light coating of conditioner. This will help to lift dirt and even out light staining. Allow it to absorb and then buff the entire surface with a clean, soft cloth.HEAVY CLEANING
DISCLAIMER: The process below has the potential to damage your piece if done improperly. This method should only be used in cases of heavy soiling, staining, blood exposure, etc. and at the owner’s discretion.MATERIALS:
- Saddle Soap
- Horsehair Brush
Remove any dry dirt or dust with a horse hair brush.
Open your tin of saddle soap and wet the surface slightly with a teaspoon or so of water. (Note: You do not want a water lather. If it is watery, keep mixing.)
Use your horsehair brush to work up a good lather and apply this to every surface. Do not scrub this into your piece. Use light, circular motions. Heavy scrubbing while wet will adversely affect the natural burnishing and patina and may even result in surface damage in some cases.
Dry your brush thoroughly to avoid mold.
Allow the piece to dry for a full 24 hours or as long as it takes for the piece to no longer feel damp. Do not stretch or flex the leather at this stage. There is still a lot of moisture in the hide at this point that will make it very susceptible to creasing and marking.
Once dry, a white, dusty coating of soap may appear on the exterior of your item. Brush this away lightly with your dry horsehair brush.
Follow the directions under “ROUTINE MAINTENANCE” to condition your piece properly. It is advisable to do at least two applications of conditioner on thinner pieces and three on thicker items.
- HOW DO I CARE FOR MY COLLARS, CUFFS, AND LEADS?
The best way to keep your pieces healthy, is constant contact with your skin. Bridle leather was chosen for the interior of these pieces because it will breath in the wearer; absorbing and conditioning the leather with your natural skin oils. The interior of each restraint will burnish as it is worn, resulting in a deep, rich patina that is unique to you.
or pieces only being used a few times a year, a light treatment with our HOUSE LEATHER CONDITIONER every couple months is suggested.EXTERIOR SCRATCHES
Light scratches can be buffed out easily. Using a soft cloth or horsehair brush, rub the area to produce heat and bring more waxes and oils to the surface.
Medium scratches that are a bit more stubborn, we suggest applying our HOUSE LEATHER CONDITIONER and buffing into the area to help reduce their appearance.
For heavy scratches that have damaged the fibers of the hide, use the above method to reduce their appearance and accept them with pride. Our pieces are made to endure the wear and tear your journey takes you. Marks like these show that your piece is well loved and can stand up to continual usage.
- HOW DO I CARE FOR MY FLOGGERS?
DISCLAIMER: Do not use our handles for insertion. Do not use conditioner on the falls.ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
Chrome tanned leather is softer and more stable than veg-tan and the other hides we use. It requires far less maintenance and applying heavy conditioners on this type of leather will result in staining, discoloration, and changes in the feel. It won't destroy the leather, but the waxes and oils will weigh down the hides and gum up the fibers.
CThe best treatment we suggest is continual use on willing and enthusiastic partners.DISINFECTING
There is no good way to sterilize chrome-tan leather that will not damage the hide and eventually destroy your gear. In the absence of a perfect solution for disinfecting floggers, your best weapons are sunlight and airflow. Microbes thrive in moisture and darkness..
Store your floggers where they can breath. Not all of us can display our gear proudly but it is very important that you not forget your items at the bottom of a toy bag or wrapped up in the back of a dark closet. After playing, hang or lay your floggers out so air can get between the falls. The leather will have absorbed some moisture during your sessions and drying this out will prevent it becoming hospitable to microbes..
Laying your flogger out with the falls spread open in direct sunlight is an additional way to disinfect the leather and can aid in the drying process. UV light is highly destructive to microbial life. Note that long term contact has the potential to damage the pigments and fibers of your leather, as well as the leather color, in the long term.
If microbial transfer is still a concern, we suggest dedicating each specific toy to one partner to avoid any cross contamination.
- HOW DO I CARE FOR MY CANES?
Delrin requires little to no maintenance. After use, wipe down the surface with your choice of disinfectant and allow to air dry.RATTAN
DISCLAIMER: Rattan will breath with the environment and may transfer oil to absorbent items like leather. Keep your natural canes separate from other toys for this reason.
Do not bend rattan canes by hand or throw them without striking a soft target. Over-flexing puts undue stress on the fibers of the cane and leads to shortened life and breakage in all rattan canes from all makers. It is of course fine to lightly check the flexibility of the cane lightly but the vast majority of breaks are due to this mistreatment.
Rattan is a natural reed and needs to be kept moist to remain supple and flexible. Our oil treatment infuses each piece to the core and rarely needs refreshing even in the most arid environments.
If conditioning is required, simply wipe the cane down with raw linseed oil and allow it to soak in overnight. If the surface feels completely dry in the morning repeat the process until it feels slightly oily. Wipe down with a soft cloth. This process should only be applied every two months.
- HOW DO I CARE FOR MY ROPE?
ABOUT OUR LEATHER
For our restraints, tawses, paddles and straps we primarily use hides from heritage brands like Horween and Hermann Oak. These family companies produce leather of exceptional quality using old methods deemed too laborious for many modern tanneries. These methods create hides with superior working properties, longevity, and beauty.
The leather utilized for our floggers comes from several different sources. All hides are chosen for their quality and only from companies who put their animals, employees, and the environment first.
Due to the organic nature of dying and our choice of leather, colors may differ.ABOUT OUR HARDWARE
The vast majority of our hardware is either solid brass or stainless steel without any plating. Solid metal components are more durable than plated versions and maintain their appearance for longer. Because all plating eventually wears off to reveal the base metal underneath, it does not pass our level of quality and we do not integrate any plated hardware into our pieces. We strive for longevity with by maintaining the highest quality standards.p> ABOUT OUR WOOD PROCESS
All of our handles are hand carved and go through a rigorous quality inspection. We strive to avoid inferior products, meaning that flaws don’t make the cut. Any handles that don’t pass our inspection will be revived as a unique piece at some point in the future.
To support longevity, each handle is burnished to bring out its true color and to help facilitate hand movement.TYPE
COCOBOLO: A Central American hardwood known for its spectacular and striking appearance. Colors can range from bright orange and fire red to purple and black all swirled together in complex grain patterns. No two pieces are exactly alike and some are more complex than others so it's always exciting to see what the end result will be. Cocobolo ages beautifully. Unlike many woods that fade and become dull with exposure to air and UV light, cocobolo oxidizes in a very odd way. The colors become deeper and darker with more rich and robust red tones presenting themselves over time.
GRANADILLO: A subtle and somewhat understated wood of medium brown color with amazing chatoyance. This is a property most often used in reference to gemstones. When carefully polished granadillo shimmers in the light and needs to be seen in person to be fully appreciated.
BOCOTE:Honey gold and pitch black are the two colors present in this wood. The balance is most often tilted toward honey with sharp and bold streaks of black. Rare and highly coveted pieces flip this balance appearing closer to ebony with streaks of gold.Due to the organic nature wood grain, colors and patterns may differ.
- IS YOUR LEATHER ETHICALLY SOURCED?
Yes. All hides are chosen for their quality and only from companies who put their animals, employees, and the environment first.
- WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY SUSTAINABLE AND ECO-FRIENDLY?
Every piece of material and hardware that enters our shop that doesn’t fit our quality standards, or is left over after a project, is repurposed or recycled. Knowing the sources of our materials, we prioritize using every piece of scrap to create accessories that accent every piece we offer. Our LOOPS and KEYCHAINS are great examples of this. All other unused materials are passed onto friends and shops that can repurpose them.
When it comes to our packaging, we aim for recyclable, reusable and eco-conscious materials. Instead of heavy printed, processed cardboard, our packaging is minimal to help produce the least amount of recyclable waste as possible.
- WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY ALL NATURAL?
When we say “All Natural”, we mean it. We seek out the best quality oils and waxes to produce our conditioners. Absolutely no petroleum products (vaseline, paraffin, mineral oil, etc.) fillers, dyes, silicone or softeners touch our products. A majority of the leathers we use are vegetable dyed, meaning no harsh chemicals. All of the materials and products we use are carefully chosen with the health of body in mind.
- WILL YOU MAIL MY PURCHASE INCONSPICUOUSLY?
All packages that leave our shop are sent out with anonymity in mind. No major branding or product descriptions will appear on the packaging we deliver to you.
- CAN I REFUND MY ORDER?
As with most kink products, all of pieces are non-refundable. Because each piece is meant for personal use, we cannot accept any refunds once it has left the shop.
Our pieces are only released once they’ve met our high quality standards and complete our rigorous testing. A defunct product is rare. Because of this, it is rare that we accept that as reasoning for a refund.
- HOW DO I REQUEST A CUSTOM PIECE?
The process for requesting a custom piece occurs in three stages: CONSULTATION, BUILD, and DELIVERY. We only accept serious requests for custom pieces. All fees and deposits are non-refundable.
CONSULTATION: All requests will be responded to in the order that they were received. All pieces are made to order and require tedious detail, sourcing and communication. In order to accommodate your request, a CONSULT FEE is required. Consult fees are non-refundable, but are included in the total cost of your custom order if you do decide to proceed with your request.
During your consult, our head craftsman will work with you to bring your vision to life. From material/hardware options to the overall design, their goal is to help you design a bespoke piece that is unique to you.
When materials and the design have been agreed upon, and the estimate has been approved, an additional deposit will be required to start the BUILD.
BUILD: During this stage, our shop will order/create the necessarily materials and hardware for your design. Once all of the materials have been received, they will start the process of assembling your custom piece.
DELIVERY: After your custom piece has been finalized, our shop will contact you to approve it. Once approved, a final payment is required before the piece is available for pickup or delivery.
Any custom pieces that are abandoned or not paid in full will be added to our shop and available to the public.
