Every tawse we make starts with heavy, raw vegetable-tanned leather from Hermann-Oak. Only the heaviest pieces are used to make these tawses.
Produced using a natural tea of vegetable tannins, veg-tan is one of the oldest and most environmentally friendly types of leather. The resulting hide is heavy, dense, and beautiful.
Each hide is processed into 2” wide blanks which are then graded and sorted by weight and quality. The heaviest blanks are then cut, punched and finished entirely by hand. Our edges are finished with a custom stain that bonds with the fibers and is set with a hot iron. Lastly, the whole piece is heavily treated with our house conditioner.
Offering sensations from light sting to severe, burning pain depending on how it is used. This tawse is one of the most intense and painful implements we make. Suggested for heavy and experienced players.
95% sting / 5% slap
The extra length and heavy leather combine to deliver a surprising amount of momentum to the tips. While very likely to leave marks at any level, a full strike with this tawse can open skin. Start slowly and be careful.
We hold ourselves to high standards and aim to be as transparent about our materials and processes. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
